March 9 marked the 18th anniversary of Notorious B.I.G.'s death, and to honor his legacy, Kendrick Lamar laid down impressive freestyle verses over the late rapper's classic beats.

The Compton emcee stopped by Big Boy's new show, "The Neighborhood," on Los Angeles' Hip-Hop and R&B radio station Real 92.3 Monday morning as the host's first guest.

To remember Biggie Smalls' passing, Lamar decided to spit some bars over the Method Man-assisted "Ready to Die" track, "The What."

"This here's what it is, I came in this game / I stuck my fingers in this game / I wore no chain in this game / My hood, my name in this game / Now I double up / Time to bubble up the bread and huddle up," he rapped.

After paying tribute, K. Dot briefly discussed his highly anticipated, "Untitled" sophomore studio album. He first confirmed that his latest project is set for a release on March 23.

However, the "Blacker the Berry" rapper refused to reveal the forthcoming record's official title because, he said, "Top Dawg will kill [me]."

Also, Big Boy congratulated Lamar for winning two Grammy awards this year and asked why he did not attend the prestigious ceremony.

"I had to turn that album in," he said. "I was on a deadline, on the clock."

"It's crazy, as a kid I never thought of no Grammy," he continued. "As a kid, writing raps that was way over my head. Just to be accomplished with any award it can be BET awards or anything, it's a compliment to me."

Before wrapping up the interview, the "B---h, Don't Kill My Vibe" hitmaker described the "Untitled" LP.

"It's great," he said.
