Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao will meet face-to-face in Los Angeles on Wednesday for the kickoff press conference of their highly anticipated showdown that is expected to become the biggest fight in boxing history.

Mayweather and Pacquiao, who are considered as the top two boxers of their generation, are scheduled to collide in what is dubbed "The Fight of the Century" on May 2 at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The two boxing superstars will finally collide after previous negotiations for the fight did not come to fruition. The two camps first negotiated in 2009, but issues about random drug testing became the biggest hurdle for the fight.

Pacquiao did not want to undergo random drug testing, fearing that it would weaken him on fight night. During negotiations following the first failed attempt to finalize the fight, the two camps failed to reach a common ground in terms of fight purse with both fighters pushing for the bigger share.

But in a sudden turn of events late last year, Mayweather declared that he is ready to face Pacquiao on Cinco de Mayo weekend to give what boxing fans the fight that they have been clamoring for over the past several years.

Pacquiao, who is coming off a unanimous decision victory against Chris Algieri in November, accepted the challenge. In turn, the Filipino boxing icon accepted a 60-40 split in favor of Mayweather and also submitted himself to random drug testing before the fight.

Mayweather, who is considered as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world today, will put his perfect 47-0 record at stake and will also defend his World Boxing Council and World Boxing Association welterweight titles.

The unbeaten world champion is considered by many as the favorite to win in the upcoming super fight, but Pacquiao is unfazed, saying that he loves being an underdog.

"It's a good thing to be an underdog," Pacquiao said in an interview via CBS Sports. "It helps me a lot. You're more focused on training. I feel like I'm at the start again. I've always been an underdog, People are very wise. It's good for them to believe in my ability."
