Black Friday 2013 Deals and Sales: Xbox One, PS4 Selling Fast But Still Available At Some Retailers
The timing of this year's Black Friday frenzy was perfectly aligned with the release of the Xbox One and Playstation 4 just weeks before, but just how many of these units are left in stock?
Not surprisingly, Wal Mart was offering the game consoles for the usual $499 (Xbox One) and $399 (Playstation 4) as it was listed on the release date. However, as the Black Friday midnight sales came and went, so did all of the game consoles. The website says both the Xbox One and Playstation 4 are currently "temporarily out of stock."
On the other hand, there are still units available at other retailers. Game Stop is selling a special "Xbox One Black Friday Bundle" complete with games as well as the Kinect for $699.96. If you're not picky and you're looking to get your hands on a next-gen console, this would be your best bet right now as the Playstation 4 Black Friday Bundle at Game Stop is now sold out.
Although the main consoles are sold out at most places, the games aren't. Wal Mart and other retailers are offering most of the next-gen games at $59.99 and shoppers should not expect this to change. The next-gen games were just released within the last two weeks; the price of the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 game consoles did not drop for more than a year after their respective releases.
In other news, although it was rumored that Grand Theft Auto 5 on Amazon.com would be dropped to $35 for Black Friday, it does not seem to be the case. The game is currently listed at $54.92 on Amazon, which is still pricey but is a slight drop from the price at the initial release.
