Fans of "Arrow" were not the only ones left in utter shock by Ra's al Ghul's proposal for Oliver Queen to replace him as the new leader of The League of Assassins. Apparently, al Ghul's daughter, Nyssa, will also be just as surprised and shaken up by her father's proposition.

In the last episode of "Arrow," Ra's al Ghul spared Oliver's life but told him that he wanted to him to become his successor.

Meanwhile, Nyssa al Ghul was taken captive by Team Arrow when she returned to Starling City to defeat Malcolm Merlyn, the man behind the death of her love, Sara Lance.

A preview video of the upcoming episode, entitled "The Offer," reveals that Oliver will consider taking on Ra's al Ghul's role in The League of Assassins.

"Oliver is completely -- as hopefully the audience is -- taken aback, 'cause he was not expecting" Ra's al Ghul's overture, teased executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, according to TVLine.

However, he is far from the only person who is atonished by al Ghul's offer since the news will also come as a complete surprise to Nyssa al Ghul, who was expecting to inherit her father's position.

"She's no longer heir to the demon," said actress Katrina Law about her character, Nyssa, reports TVLine.

She added that Nyssa will struggle with the news of giving up her birthright while still coping with Sara's death.

"She no longer has her lover, who I'm sure she was thinking about keeping around forever. She's essentially lost everything. For the first time in her life, she is vulnerable and she feels weak and useless; it's very jarring. You're going to see Nyssa trying to figure out who she is and what she stands for now," said Law.

As a result, this could lead Nyssa into finding an unexpected ally in Laurel, who also suffered tremendously from the loss of Sara and struggles with issues with her father.

"The two of them may have more in common than Nyssa originally thought," added Law.

In addition, executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that Nyssa thinks that her father made this decision due to his disapproval of her romance with Sara.

"There's a scene in [Episode 16] between Nyssa and Ra's that definitely addresses that," Guggenheim says. "From Nyssa's perspective, it has everything to do with Sara. From Ra's perspective? Maybe, maybe not." Regardless of the answer, Ra's decision will send his lost daughter "on a different trajectory where she's seeing what kindness looks like for the first time, and she's seeing what normal people look like for the first time," Kreisberg said.

"Arrow" Season 3, Episode 16, "The Offer," airs on Wednesday, March 18 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
