There will be a new star on the Hollywod Walk of Fame come Dec. 5, and this on will come from South of the Border. Thalia, Mexican songstress of enduring appeal, will be honored with her own star in an 11:30 a.m. ceremony that is open to the public.

Hers will be the 2,514th Star in the category of recording artist.

"Thalia is hailed by her fans as the queen of Latin Pop. She is a singer and actress, as well as an author, radio personality and entrepreneur" said Ana Martinez, Producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies on the official Walk of Fame Web site. "The woman can't be stopped, and we are proud to honor and welcome her to our Walk of Fame family."

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce noted that Thalia Sodi, 42, has been in the entertainment business since she was only nine years old in Mexico City. More than 40 million records later, she has 28 Top 10 singles and 15 No. 1 hits. Thalia has received two Latin Billboard awards and several Premios Juventud awards.

She is also an actress with her telenovelas having been translated into several languages broadcast in more than 180 countries to more than two billion people.

Most recently, Thalia made her debut as a guest co-host on "The View," entering the set arm-in-arm with legendary journalist Barbara Walters, who also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

"I'm going to visit your (star)," Thalia said to Walters of the upcoming ceremony. "And then Jennifer Lopez ... and Carmen Miranda!"

On the top of the list for the ladies to discuss was the American Music Awards, and Thalia and Whoopi Goldberg immediately found common ground in Jennifer Lopez's tribute to Celia Cruz.

"That was amazing, I mean seriously, Celia Cruz is like the icon of Latin culture," Thalia said. "And then to have Jennifer doing that in Spanish. That was amazing."

She then suggested Goldberg should portray the Cuban songstress in a movie.
