Liam Neeson Once Proposed to Brooke Shields,Then Never Called Her?
Liam Neeson doesn't deny that he was a jerk to Brooke Shields during the early 1990s when the star-studded couple was dating.
According to People Magazine, Neeson recently conceded to "Watch What Happen" host Andy Cohen when hit with questions about Shields' accusations "I'm not going to deny it. I actually don't really remember. It was so many years ago."
In her memoir, "There Was a Little Girl," Shields also recalled Neeson proposed to her without a ring after just three months of dating, but soon after that he went missing and she didn't hear from him again for quite some time.
Shields also claims after the first time he proposed, Neeson ultimately "came back" and again asked her to marry him. "I said, 'No, no, no," she added "because knowing you, you'll probably fall in love with your next leading lady and marry her.'"
Shields' premonition proved accurate, as in 1994 Neeson met Natasha Richardson on the set of the play "Anna Christie" they both starred in and the couple was eventually married.
Neeson told Cohen he hasn't spoken to Shields for quite some time, but thinks she's "a great lady and a fantastic girl."
The 49-year-old Shields adds she started dating Neeson after breaking up with Princeton boyfriend Dean Cain. She readily admits she was impressed by Neeson's movie-star status and the way he romanced her with his "brogue, his poetry and choice of cheap pinot grigio wine."
Neeson, 52, has gone on to appear in such hit movies as "Taken," "Schindler's List" and "Batman Begins." Neeson has also been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor and three Golden Globe Awards. Empire Magazine once ranked him among the "100 Sexiest Stars in Film History" and "The top 100 Movie stars of All Time."
