Black Sabbath New Album Reunion: Will They Ever Record Another Album?
Just two short years after announcing their reunion, and just a short while after their lineup once again underwent another shakeup, legendary heavy metal band Black Sabbath has announced that they may never record another album.
Ultimate Guitar is reporting that guitarist Tony Iommi doesn't think recording a new album is a great idea.
"I don't know if that would be an anticlimax if we wrote another album," he said . "I'd like to, but we haven't actually spoken about it, you know? I don't know if that would be a good idea after this one, because this one's done so well. I'm sure we'd all like to do one. But I don't know. Maybe I should talk to the others about it."
But founding member and pop culture icon (and Mr. Sharon Osbourne), Ozzy Osbourne, disagrees...if only slightly, according to Ultimate Classic Rock. "I don't want to say there's going to be another album, because I don't want you to ask me in another year, 'What happened when you said you were going to do another record?'" he said. "I'll leave it open. I'm open for anything. I have three albums to deliver of my own solo thing to my record label. We'll all still be doing music. It's been a lot of fun doing it with Black Sabbath, and I'm not sorry at all for getting back together."
Osbourne, who recently suffered another relapse into addiction, says that it was his disease, not Sabbath, that caused him to relapse, and says that if he doesn't attend A.A. meetings, he relapses as an end result.
So...what's your take on all of this? Will Black Sabbath record another album...or should they even do so? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
