Katy Perry and John Mayer Dating: Couple Reveals Duet Track Who You Love Cover Art [AUDIO]
The two lovebirds Katy Perry and John Mayer unveil the cover art for their duet track "Who You Love" off Mayer's sixth studio album, "Paradise Valley."
The "Your Body Is a Wonderland" singer took Twitter to reveal the artwork. "'Who You Love' is here. Proud of this song, proud of this artwork, proud of this girl. - JM," he tweeted.
The romantic black-and-white image shot by renowned photographer Mario Sorrenti features the "Unconditionally" singer, clad in a black spaghetti-strap satin dress with her dark wavy hair swept to one side, comfortably laying on a leather couch and seductively staring at the camera, while her right hand placing on her lover's neck. John Mayer, who is wearing a matching black crewneck long-sleeve, is sitting on the floor, strumming his guitar in front of his girlfriend.
"If it's who you love / then it's who you love" - the sweet melody track is about opening up the heart and allowing oneself to fully love the person in life. "It was a really great experience and the song is one of these like old FM '70s and '80s sort of like duets," Mayer said of writing the song with Perry. "And I listened back to it; it's, like, really convincing. And I watched it get made and I'm still kind of taken aback."
John Mayer also explained that the general idea behind the song, which can be best described as, "I love you based on the fact that I've tried to run and I'm not running and I give up." He added that Katy Perry herself wrote the lyrics to her part of the song saying, "it was a really fun opportunity for her to write like, her answer to that."
In addition, the "Daughters" singer previously had opened up about his relationship with Perry in May.
"I don't feel like I'm in a celebrity relationship," said Mayer. "For the first time in my life I don't feel like I'm in a celebrity relationship. I really don't. I'm not in a high profile - I know it's high profiler. It's hard to explain... For me it feels like something that's very human."
