Xbox One vs. PS4 Features, Games, Specs, Comparison: Sony Reaches 2.1 Units Sold; Info About New Xbox One Kinect
Sony has now sold more than 2.1 million Playstation 4 game consoles just two weeks after the initial November launch.
Around half of the total units sold were gone within 24 hours of the Nov. 15 release as gamers rushed to get the first game console in the Playstation series in more than a half decade. Microsoft is also enjoying early success with the Xbox One that was released exactly one week after its Sony counterpart.
Although it is exciting to have the new game consoles out, many people are still not sure which games to pick up since they are not familiar with the most updated next generation experience yet. According to IGN's list of rated games that have been released already, sports games such as NBA 2K14 and action packed, wartime games such as Call of Duty: Ghosts are among some of the most popular and highest rated games to be released. NBA 2K14 has been praised for its realistic graphics as well as the way it customizes each player to make it that much more of a simulation.
Although the PS4 came out sooner than the Xbox One, it seems Microsoft took the extra time to perfect some things. This is noticeable with the new Kinect, which is said to be significantly better than what gamers had to work with on the Xbox 360.
"Throw out whatever concept you may have about the original Kinect with Xbox 360," IGN's Fran Mirabella III said in a review. "It's a toy compared to the impressively wide 1080 HD camera, multi-microphone array peripheral that is bundled with the Xbox One (and accounts for much of the price difference between it and the PlayStation 4). The new Kinect also features an IR camera to aid vision, even seeing in the dark."
The PS4 is focused more on the gaming aspect than the Xbox One, but both consoles also have deals with outside organizations to bring exclusive content. This includes NFL updates, NBA Game Time, Netflix, and Redbox Instant.
