'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6 Episode 17 Spoilers: Can Damon Save His Mother in 'A Bird in a Gilded Cage?' [Watch]
Things will be intense in Thursday's episode of "The Vampire Diaries" as Damon attempt to retrieve his mother from the prison world, while Caroline and Stefan continue terrorizing Mystic Falls.
The last episode focused on Caroline and Stefan, who both switched their humanity switch off and began to embrace their blood-thirsty and emotionless sides, presenting a deadly combination for Mystic Falls trouble.
The next episode, "A Bird in a Gilded Cage," will focus on Bonnie, Damon and Elena, who carry out a plan to try to save Damon's long-lost mother, Lily.
According to Carter Matt, the official synopsis states:
"With the help of Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Kai (guest star Chris Wood), Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) set forth a plan to rescue Damon's mother Lily (guest star Annie Wersching), who is trapped in the 1903 prison world. Meanwhile, when Caroline's (Candice Accola) plan for Stefan (Paul Wesley) backfires, she is left to pick up the pieces. Elsewhere, back at Whitmore College, Enzo (Michael Malarkey) and Alaric's (Matt Davis) attempt to reel Caroline back in doesn't quite go as planned when they realize they're outmaneuvered. Lastly, an unexpected gift from Bonnie leaves Damon shaken to his core."
ET Online released a sneak peek that shows Damon asking Bonnie for some of her magic blood to be used in a spell to rescue Lily.
Bonnie seems to reluctantly agree.
"I hate Kai and you know that and the first thing you did when I got back was throw him in my face to fake-apologize," she yells at Damon.
"Yeah, and then I real apologized for being a dick," Damon responds. "Stick with me, Bonnie Bennett. I might just have the answer to all of your prayers."
Season 6, Episode 17 of "The Vampire Diaries," titled " A Bird in a Gilded Cage," will air Thursday, March 19 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
