NBA 2K14 Next-Gen Features, Gameplay, Review: Get Technical Fouls for Swearing, Thanks to Kinect Sensor
NBA 2K14 on the next generation game platforms is so realistic that you will feel like you're standing on the court while the whole world listens to you.
An Xbox One gamer posted a YouTube video showing what happens when a person uses foul language. Thanks to the Xbox One's Kinect sensor, your voice is picked up by the game console and if you say something that you shouldn't say on the basketball court then you might wind up costing your team.
While playing NBA 2K14, you'll seen a screen saying "Call technical foul due to bad language" immediately after using foul language, which certainly adds to the increasingly realistic nature of the video game series that has emerged as one of the most popular in the industry.
This feature is exclusive to the Xbox One as the Playstation 4 obviously does not have a Kinect sensor.
Regardless of the differences between the game on the two different consoles, NBA 2K14 is one of the top next-gen games overall. In addition to improving the detail and graphics on the court, the game also features incredibly realistic crowds and areas away from the spotlight.
"Crowds are now much more varied, advertising screens reflect beautifully onto the hardwood, and players look eerily lifelike," GamesRadar's Andy Hartup said in a game review on 2K14. "Some are better likenesses than others--Derrick Rose and Kevin Durant are highlights--but on the whole it's amazing to see how realistic they look. It's great to see legendary players recreated in such detail too."
Sports video games will continue to improve over the years and this game is just the first of many basketball games that we will see, but it seems like its off to a much better start than games such as Madden that have barely improved in the next-gen. version.
