Mexican ranchero star Lupillo Rivera is hoping to celebrate his 20th career anniversary in a very special way: The Grammy Award winner would like to sing a duet with his niece Chiquis, TV Notas reported.

The 43-year-old revealed his plans on Telemundo's Spanish-language morning show "Un Nuevo Día," where he also talked about his upcoming concert in Los Angeles.

The recital will include a special tribute to Jenni Rivera -- Lupillo's sister who died in 2012 when her business jet crashed; Chiquis, born Janney Marin, is Jenni's eldest daughter.

"We were thinking about doing a couple of songs that we have to do because people have been asking for them," the ranchero singer said about the Los Angeles event. "Two of the greatest successes I have had, and which -- of course -- I will (sing) with much love. She deserves it without doubt; it will be a mini tribute to Jenni," he detailed.

Most of the Rivera clan will be present at the concert at the California city's Nokia Theatre, "El Toro del Corrido" revealed.

"It seems as though everybody will be there," he said. "Several people have told me that (Chiquis) is on the list, and I hope she will be there. If she is, we will go ahead and have a show!"

Rivera's 29-year-old niece began her singing career in early 2014 when she released her first single, "Paloma Blanca". She had written the song as a tribute to her late mother.

Her uncle was ambiguous about Chiquis' artistic ambitions from the very beginning, though he noted that Jenni's daughter would have to make a mark for herself, La Opinión recalled.

"She is just another artist, and she is nobody special to me as an artist; she is simply another person who wants to fight, and we wish her the best in the world," Rivera had said at the time.

Over the years, uncle and niece have had some difficult moments, the Los Angeles-based Spanish-language newspaper noted; but a common tribute to Jenni Rivera would be a great opportunity to renew their "incredible bond," La Opinión judged.
