Rihanna Relationship News: 'FourFiveSeconds' Singer Tells Women that Respecting Yourself More Will Lead to Men Respecting You More
Hip hop star Rihanna is advising women everywhere to be more respectful of themselves as they strive for greater equality.
According to Bossip.com, the "Umbrella" singer and recently named new face for Christian Dior told reporters: "I feel like my image evolves as I evolve as a woman. With the growth, there's a change. My style is a reflection of my mood, my attitude wherever I am at, and you can see how it's evolved since the beginning of my career just from my videos. And style is a huge part of my attitude."
Rihanna, who was once infamously attacked and beaten by then-boyfriend Chris Brown leading to him being criminally charged, later added of the female population, "the more we respect ourselves the more men will respect us. I have both sides to me and I think most women do. We are strong, but we are very vulnerable as well."
E! News reports the Bajan singer's Dior deal, which makes her the first black woman so anointed, calls for her to star in the next installment of the company's "Secret Garden" campaign being shot in Versailles, France.
"Film and print versions of the campaign are scheduled to run this spring," a brand spokesperson reports.
Other stars rumored to be connected to the campaign include actresses Jennifer Lawrence, Marion Cotillard and Natalie Portman and models Carmen Kass and Tiiu Kuik. Marilyn Monroe and Grace Kelly are also slated to be featured in a holgrammed-styled commercial.
Actresses Charlize Theron previously served as the face of the campaign for more than a decade. Rihanna also recently entered into a partnership with Puma, where she is expected to serve as the brand's Creative Director and chief consultant for the women's training line.
