International friendly soccer action continues on Wednesday as Scotland and Northern Ireland face off.

The game will be a tune-up for both sides before they continue their Euro Cup qualifiers later this week.

For Northern Ireland, the biggest news is the likely debut of Manchester United production Paddy McNair. The 19-year-old has made 12 appearances for the major club and has also appeared with Northern Ireland's U17, U19 and U21 sides with whom he made a combined six appearances. He was also called up to the senior side on Nov. 4, 2014 but did not play in the game against Romania.

The two sides have played a combined 35 times, with Northern Ireland currently holding the edge in head-to-head competition. The team has a total of 16 wins, 10 draws and nine losses against the Scots. Northern Ireland has actually lost just once in its last nine games with Scotland and two of its last 15. In that span, the team has a record of seven wins, six draws and two defeats.

In European competition, Ireland currently sits in second place in Group F behind Romania. The side opened its campaign with victories over Hungary, the Faroe Islands and Greece before stumbling against Romania in a 2-0 defeat. Next up on the slate is a date with the Finnish, who currently sit in fourth place in the group with a win, one draw and two losses.

Scotland has a tougher task to endure in its qualifiers as it has to overcome a group that includes Poland, Germany, the Republic of Ireland, Georgia and Gibraltar. The latter two pose no major issues but the other three sides could easily knock the Scots down the table. As it stands, Scotland currently holds a record of two wins, one draw and one loss in four matches.

Predictions

Expect both teams to head to a 1-1 draw.
