‘Fresh Off the Boat’ Season 1 Episode 10 Spoilers: Jessica’s College Boyfriend Visits, Eddie Tries to Ditch the School Science Fair in ‘Blind Spot’ [Watch]
In this week's "Fresh Off the Boat" Episode 9 "License to Sell," Eddie Huang's dad, Louis, gave him advice for winning over Eddie's crush, Nicole. The romance advice consisted of mostly restaurant metaphors since Louis is the owner of the family's Western-themed steakhouse.
Eddie took his dad's advice and mixed in his own game plan: commit an offense at school so that he can be with Nicole in detention. In detention, Nicole told Eddie she doesn't need grade school because she wants to attend beauty school. Eddie agreed to be her beauty guinea pig -- anything so that he can get closer to the older and mysterious girl of his dreams.
Meanwhile, Jessica got cold feet about taking the real estate exam and put her real estate dream on hold. In this episode, we saw a distinct personality trait in Jessica -- she doesn't aspire to something unless she can be the absolute best. It seems she feels that she cannot compete with Kim, Orlando's star real estate agent.
Not only did Jessica leave the testing center, but she also lied to her family for days about doing so. Louis caught her in a lie, forcing her to fess up and face her fear of not being the brightest star in her career field.
We watched Eddie succumb to Nicole's beauty experiments, including an ear piercing, until he decided that he lost some self-respect and refused to be her test subject any longer. If he wants to see Nicole, it must be on his terms.
On the next installment of "Fresh Off the Boat," Episode 10, "The Blind Spot," Jessica's college boyfriend, Oscar Chow, comes for a visit. She becomes miffed that Louis isn't more jealous, but her blind spot is being completely oblivious to the fact that Oscar is gay. Meanwhile, Eddie tries to get out of participating in the school science fair.
Watch "Fresh Off the Boat" Episode 10 airs next Tuesday, March 31, at 8 p.m. on ABC.
