Justin Bieber Roast Soon Approaching: 'Get Hard' Star Kevin Hart Sizzles as Comedy Central's Roast Master, Ron Burgundy Makes an Appearance (EXCLUSIVE/VIDEOS)
Kevin Hart wears multiple hats as a stand-up comedian, a comedic actor and a fitness buff (he just landed the cover of Men's Health), but now he can add Comedy Central's Roast Master to the list.
The star who recently released "The Wedding Ringer" and "Get Hard" (out in hits theaters this Friday) is the host of the highly anticipated the Comedy Central "Roast of Justin Bieber," which will air on Monday, March 30.
Taking the role of Roast Master isn't easy, but Hart was the man for the job.
"It was a good time," Hart told Latin Post in an exclusive interview. "The roast came out well. I can't wait for people to see it. It was something that was the first time that I've done it -- and after that, it probably won't be the last time."
The occasion, which Comedy Central says is "to hold one of the world's biggest teen idols over an open flame," kicked off 'nicely' with Hart's take on what was about to unfold.
"This is possibly the beginning and the end for Justin Bieber," Hart said during the taping. "We're about to give this boy an ass-whooping he deserves."
In addition to Hart, the Comedy Central "Roast of Justin Bieber" will also include Hannibal Buress, Chris D'Elia, Snoop Dogg, Natasha Leggero, Ludacris, Shaquille O'Neal, Jeff Ross and Martha Stewart.
The roasters reportedly dig deep and offer up some tough jabs at the 21-year-old who faces jokes involving abortion ("people still urging his mother to abort him") by Snoop Dogg, STDs, his latest antics and music that people "hate" to people associated with him such as Selena Gomez and Usher, among others. There is also a harsh verbal lashing from D'Elia, who is Bieber's favorite comedian.
The roasters got it too, however. Hart's height was made fun of as well as Stewart's jail time.
"Kevin was at my wedding because I needed a miniature black man on my cake," Ludacris said. "Kevin, you look like someone put 50 Cent in the dryer," Leggero added.
To top things off, "Anchorman's" Ron Burgundy also makes a surprise appearance.
When asked about his cameo, Ferrell told Latin Post: "I wasn't there."
"Will wasn't there, no," Hart added. "There was a guy ... Ron Burgundy showed up. Ron came in Ron form. I mean I wish he just was a nicer guy to be around, but I don't like to call him an ass. ... You don't get to talk to the guy too much. He comes in and he's just very weird, like I tried to speak, but he just stormed out. He just flipped a cigarette and I think he might have thrown a glass, I'm not sure. But everybody was shocked to see him, but I knew what we were going to get when he came out, so I just backed off."
"He's the epitome of comedy ... of improv. I'm indebted to that guy and the fact that I got to work with him was unreal," Hart told Latin Post of recently working with Ferrell.
Burgundy was pretty supportive of the Biebs when he delivered his jokes, according to reports.
Some of Burgundy's jokes included:
"This kid has spunk, moxie and probably a few other STDs."
"People refer to Bieber as a kid or a boy. Well here's a news flash, gang: he's a man. A full-grown man, who works and loves and makes things with his hands. A man who sings songs for 9-year-olds and cuts his hair like a gay figure skater."
"If anything, Justin Bieber, not only do you need to continue to live your life with the same reckless abandon. I suggest you even turn up the heat."
How did Bieber handle the Roast?
"It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be," Bieber told a room full of reporters after enduring three hours of the "Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber" taped at Sony Studios in Los Angeles.
"It was a little rough," Hart told Jimmy Kimmel on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." "There were moments where I was like, 'Justin is going to cry in the car. There's no way he's not going to cry.' You know when you look at a person and they're trying to have a good time, but there's a tear?"
From there, Hart dove into a "two-minute impression/anecdote on Bieber's near-bawling episode."
