It seems like the Princess of Pop, Britney Spears will be leaving her throne soon. The "Baby One More Time" star has hinted to Mario Lopez and "Extra" that once her two-year residency in Las Vegas wraps up, she could retire.

Britney has had a long and successful career where she has even been declared an icon. With 100 million albums sold worldwide, earning numerous awards and accolades and being responsible for "the revival of teen pop" during the late 1990's, Spears has made her mark in music. "Britney Jean" is her eighth studio album, released on Dec. 3rd, and instead of Britney doing a worldwide tour, she decided to start a two-year residency in Vegas and perform at her very own Vegas show. With all of the success as well as the tough times the singer has faced, she seems to be ready to retire from the entertainment world.  You know what they say: you should always leave while you're still on top.

With "Britney Jean" actually not doing so well and fans even rating the album a "4 out of 10" it's probably a good idea for Britney to "Werk" this Vegas show and go home to her two little ones. Her sons, Sean and Jaden Federline, are a big part of the reason why Ms. Spears is thinking about retiring; even saying she wants a bigger family. "I might [retire], who knows? I may have two more kids, I don't know". The "Oops I did it again" star is also very much in love with boyfriend, David Lucado, sources saying "they are inseparable". David is a "good old southern bell" just like Britney, who has worked as a bartender, an associate at a law firm and now has his own business in L.A.

David Lucado is not "in the business" and Britney says "it kind of helps".  "I mean I could understand how if you dated someone in the business they would get it, what you're going through everyday and stuff. But I feel the chemistry kind of speaks for itself when you date someone that's out of the industry". It looks like Britney has serious plans with Lucado...hmm...hope he is aware of these plans. It's not a bad time for the pop diva to retire. She gave us "late 90's teens" the best music era that we could of asked for and she stood tall through her breakdown and other troubles. We are proud of Britney and will support whatever decision she makes (even if that's going back with Justin Timberlake somehow hehe)...now "go get to Werk B*****!".
