Xbox One and PS4 News, Availability, Prices: Game Consoles Back On Sale This Weekend
The Xbox One and Playstation 4 game consoles were so popular after being launched in November that most places were out of stock by Black Friday.
However, Microsoft and Sony seemed to have caught up in the manufacturing and production process because a Best Buy advertisement shows that the Xbox One will be available in limited stock starting on Sunday. An apparent call to Best Buy confirmed that both Playstation 4 and Xbox One game consoles will be available, according to Gotta Be Mobile.
Both Microsoft and Sony enjoyed explosive launches in November. Although the Xbox One was released a week later than its counterpart, both companies were able to sell more than a million consoles in the first 24 hours. The Xbox One costs $100 more than the Playstation 4.
Gotta Be Mobile said that the Xbox One has been much more hard to find in comparison with the Playstation 4.
"The Xbox One has been an extremely difficult piece of gaming hardware to obtain ever since the console's launch last month on the 22nd", Craig Lloyd said. "We've seen a handful of units make their way to retailers every now and then in limited stock (with Amazon being the latest), but they usually sell out shortly afterward, with only those with a quick reaction able to buy one."
Gotta Be Mobile's Josh Smith said that the retailers are the ones who sell out the fastest, leaving some opportunities for buyers to look right at the Microsoft or Sony stores. However, there are only a few left at these stores as well.
"There is a better chance of walking into a Sony Store and finding a PS4 in stock than at other retailers," Smith wrote in the article. "The same goes for getting an Xbox One in stock at a Microsoft store. Unfortunately, there are not that many of these stores across the U.S."
