ABC Family 'Pretty Little Liars' Season 6 Spoilers & Rumors: 'All Will Be Revealed' in Summer Episodes, Someone's Likely to Get Married
Fans of the ABC Family teen mystery-thriller "Pretty Little Liars" got a pretty big payoff in the Season 5 finale, when it was revealed the “A” -- a hitherto anonymous character that has been cyber-bullying all the girls on the show with weird threats -- is a guy that goes by the unassuming name of Charles.
There has already been a lot of fan speculation about who this Charles is. It has been suggested, as detailed in E!, that the guy could be Bethany's twin or Jason's twin, or that he could be Caleb, or even that Dan Humphrey character from “Gossip Girls.”
In an interview with Zap2it, Joseph Dougherty, the executive producer of the series, dishes on some possibilities without giving too much, or really anything, away.
When asked whether it was possible that Charles is perhaps maybe not even a boy, Dougherty asserted that the show had a definite direction, but that direction could go anywhere, saying: “We know what we're doing, but it's impossible to take any possibility off the table right now. I can't say yes or no there."
“Here's my problem right now,” he elaborated, “You're actually identifying things that were done on purpose in order to allow the audience and our rather intense fans to actually figure this thing out before we totally explain it. When we think about these last 10 episodes, we think of it as an amazing puzzle opportunity and if the serious fans get it right even a heartbeat before we tell them what it is, we're going to be incredibly satisfied.”
One thing those fans need not worry at all about are any loose ends.
“By the time we get to the summer 10 episodes, all will be revealed. We know we have this much time and we know we're going to reboot the series, but at the same time we've got this great opportunity to bring fans into the mystery process," said Dougherty.
Entertainment Tonight also got a few more details, such as there will be a time jump. And someone will likely get married.
According executive producer Oliver Goldstick, the action won't drag.
"Will one of them be married? Mmmm.... I'd say yes," he said. "And that's the kind of stuff we're going to jump into, and I think that's really exciting." Our money is on a Haleb wedding!
"Pretty Little Liars"will return in the summer.
