The Voice Season 5 Semi-Finals Replay and Recap
The current season of The Voice is almost coming to an end. The remaining top five contestants battled it out on stage Monday night.
The five finalists, Cole Vosbury, Will Champlin, James Wolpert, Jacquie Lee and Tessanne Chin started off with a performance of American Authors' Best Day of My Life.
Adam Levine's Wolpert started the semi-finals competition with a performance on U2's "With or Without You." Last week, Wolpert was already on the verge had it not been for Twitter. This time around, the judges and coaches acknowledged his vocal power.
Coach Adam Levine even said: "I don't even care about the competition at this point because I know how incredible that performance was. James, that was even beyond what I thought you could do."
Another of Coach Adam's disciple, Will Champlin performed next. His rendition of "Carry On" by Fun was a first - as he ditched the musical instruments he almost always had with him. Champlin also took his glasses off and wore a smile on stage.
"I'm just happy because I don't think I've ever seen this happen with you before," his coach remarked.
Team Blake Shelton's Cole Vosbury performed Billy Joel's "Shameless" while Team Christina Aguilera's Jacquie Lee sang "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan.
Vosbury's performance of the Garth Brooks rendition was vocally appreciated by Cee Lo Green. He was commended on his ability to perform the song as if it was his. He was also praised by Blake Shelton who said that he did an incredible job.
Although she is the youngest of the group at 16 years old, Lee's performance gathered praise from her coach. At the end of her performance, Christina Aguilera stood up and cheered on. She also commented on how Lee's performance "blew her away."
The last performance of the night was of Tessanne Chin who performed "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Chin delivered an emotional performance of the song which brought several audiences to tears as well. Coach Adam regarded her performance as "flawless" and "graceful."
The top five will be reduced to a trio with Tuesday night's elimination episode. Watch the replay of Monday night's performances below.
