“Revenge,” an ABC drama about a young woman getting even with the rich family that ruined her father, is in its fourth bloody season.

Very loosely based on Alexandre Dumas’ “The Count of Monte Cristo,” the New York Times has described the Emily VanCamp-starring series as “‘Gossip Girl’ tailored to this economy, with just enough campy suspense to be enjoyable.”

In the upcoming episod, titled "Exposure," the character of Emily Thorne (Emily VanCamp) stands before a promising future under her alias “Amanda Clarke,” reports Spoilers Guide.

That is until Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) uncovers some secrets from her past.

For a nighttime soap, “Revenge” has an audience that is pretty much split between male and female viewers.

In an interview with GQ, VanCamp, who before becoming famous on “Revenge” had roles in “Everwood” and “Brothers & Sisters,” spoke about the phenomena of her guy fans, saying: “At first I thought the show was going to be so female-oriented. I think it's one of those shows that the girlfriend turns on and the guy ends up liking more though. I've had so many lovely encounters with guy fans. Then you have the crazy ones, too -- the ones that come up to you on the street and don't realize you aren't your character.”

This season of “Revenge” has heavily explored the character of Victoria, who, using the wisdom that comes with age, has become ever more calculating.

Last year, the star of "12 Monkeys" and "The Last of the Mohicans," Madeleine Stowe, spoke to the Huffington Post about aging.

“Forties are great until about 43 or 44, and then it gets really hard because you start to see your mortality and then you start to see certain limitations,” said Stowe.

“And then when you’re in your 50s, it’s sort of like, screw all of that! This is wonderful … You just want to go for it, you know? And you’re happy.”

The next episode of “Revenge” airs on April 12.
