Kanye West Hot New 'So Help Me God' Album Release 2015: Upcoming LP to Feature Kendrick Lamar? [Watch]
Kanye West's highly anticipated seventh studio album, "So Help Me God," was rumored to feature Kendrick Lamar.
During an interview with Los Angeles' Power 106 on Wednesday, the Compton lyricist was asked if he will be making a guest appearance on the Chicago emcee's upcoming record.
"No," said Lamar, before immediately changing his tone to a more hopeful yet still uncertain one.
"We worked," he added. "But he's still working. So, you never know."
The hip-hop duo already collaborated, as K. Dot is listed, via Kanye To The, as one of the 17 musicians credited to "All Day," a track off Yeezy's latest project.
Moreover, it seems like West's forthcoming LP will be inspired by Lamar's recently released "To Pimp a Butterfly" album.
The "Only One" rapper took to his Twitter account on March 16 to offer his opinion on the "King Kunta" rapper's latest work. One thing is for sure: he really liked the critically acclaimed record, calling it "an inspiration."
The TDE artist feels the same way about the G.O.O.D. Music Boss, as he learned a lot from him during their "Yeezus" tour -- he told MTV at the time that watching West's performances inspired him.
Lamar also praised the "Yeezus" album.
"It was hard for me to grasp it on the first take," he told MTV. "As I kept listening throughout the week, I understood what he was doing. That was him stepping out the box again and doing what he felt. As an artist, we all need to take heed and salute that."
