San Francisco Easter Day Parade 2015 Date, Time, Location: Find Out Route & Other Fun Activities for Easter
San Francisco will host the 24th Annual Union Street Easter Parade this Sunday. The all-day event begins at 10 a.m. and it will feature games, rides, a petting zoo and, of course, the parade, according to Steven Restivo Event Services.
The rain-or-shine event has grown over the years and is now known as the Biggest Little Parade in San Francisco.
Some of Union Street's best restaurants will feature items from their menus and serve them to parade attendees in an outdoor bistro setting. Parade favorites like funnel cakes, corn dogs, smoothies and kettle corn will be available.
Kids and families will enjoy the large inflatable bouncing rides, kids' rides and games, a climbing wall, costumed characters, a pony ride and entertainment area and much more.
The parade starts at 2 p.m. local time and will take place on Union Street between Gough and Fillmore Streets. The entire event is free of cost and open to the public. Nearly 50 different floats and other presentations will march along the parade route with hundreds of participants.
The parade has featured vintage cars, rollerblading cows, costumed characters and more. After the parade concludes at 3 p.m., the crowd is encouraged to join in a Bunny Hop flash mob at the Main Stage located at Union and Buchanan.
The Easter Bonnet Contest will invite children, adults and even pets to create an Easter hat that is can be elegant, wacky or anything in between. Judging takes place between 11:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories such as Largest Hat, Best Pet, Most Comical and Most Creative.
Children and family events like the Easter Egg Toss, the Easter Egg Roll, kids' rides and music will take place throughout the event.
