'The Originals' Season 2 Episode 17 Spoilers: EP Teases 'Showdown' Between Eva Sinclair and Rebekah in 'Exquisite Corpse' [Videos]
Eva Sinclair won't go down without a fight in Monday's all-new episode of "The Originals."
As fans may recall, the evil witch regained control of her own body, leaving Rebekah trapped and powerless in the last episode. Now, it will be up to Klaus and Elijah to save Rebekah's life from Eva's powers.
According to executive producer Michael Narducci, the upcoming episode, titled "Exquisite Corpse," will feature a much anticipated "showdown" between "Rebekah Mikaelson and the spirt of the host body that she has taken over, Eva Sinclair," he said in a preview video. And she's got "some bad intentions," he added.
Actor Joseph Morgan also dropped hints about the next episode, his character Klaus, and Eva's role on the show.
"This episode features a lot of the character Eva Sinclair, who is the original occupant of the body that Rebekah took," Morgan said during an interview with People magazine.
"I'm very excited for the fans to see that stuff ... the last scene of the episode is very unexpected and amazing."
Morgan also revealed that fans can expect to see much more of Klaus' dark time as the season winds down.
"More and more, he's being separated from the family, and that's when he's likely to do something crazy and irrational," said the star. "Especially the penultimate episode of the season, where he does a series of terrible, terrible things. And it's extremely violent. There's a lot more of that side of Klaus toward the end of this season, the villainous side -- the dark side," he hinted.
In addition to Eva, "Exquisite Corpse" will also heavily revolve around Vincent, teased executive producer Julie Plec.
"This episode really gives us a little bit of a look into who he is, what his past is and how he was tied in with these witches and, specifically, with the naughty and not so nice Eva Sinclair," explained Plec.
According to Carter Matt, The CW released the full synopsis for this installment, which reads as follows:
"When Eva Sinclair's (guest star Maisie Richardson-Sellers) reemergence leaves Rebekah trapped and helpless, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is forced to put aside his mistrust for Freya (guest star Riley Voelkel) in order to save Rebekah's life. Meanwhile, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) learn more about Eva's violent past from Josephine (guest star Meg Foster), who then makes a startling revelation about Hayley's future. With time running out to save Rebekah, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) turns to a reluctant Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) for his help to take down Eva, but his plan takes an unexpected turn, as Eva will not go down without a fight."
Lastly, viewers can look forward to getting a formal introduction of Dahlia, a power-hungry and vengeful witch played by actress Claudia Black, on the show. Entertainment Weekly reports that Dahlia will make her debut in the April 13 episode. Once Dahlia comes to New Orleans, Klaus said that fans will be able to recognize the similarities between Klaus and Dahlia.
"They're definitely of the same blood," he teased.
Season 2, Episode 17 of "The Originals," "Exquisite Corpse," will premiere on Monday, April 6, on The CW.
