Justin Bieber Philippines 2013: Top 5 Things JB Did for Haiyan Victims in Tacloban
The 19-year old international pop sensation visited the Philippines in light of the recent super typhoon that hit the country.
Bieber arrived at the tropical country Tuesday morning at Ninoy Aquino International Airport 2 in Manila. According to ABS-CBN News, the singer and his group boarded a private plane to get to the country.
The singer started his #GiveBackPhilippines campaign in order to help victims of typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. He seemed to have gone all out in his campaign to raise money for Filipino victims.
Here are the Top 5 Things JB did in order to help out survivors of the super typhoon in Tacloban:
1. Auction
Along with friend Milk Tyson, the singer painted a graffiti on a wall in Los Angeles on November 17. The graffiti was of two hands clasped together in prayer. It also contained the words "Pray 4 Philippines" and his initials, JB at the bottom. A photo of the graffiti painting will reportedly be auctioned off together with the signed spray paints used. All proceeds of the auction will be donated to typhoon Haiyan victims in the Visayas region of the Philippines.
2. Donation Campaign
The singer also started a donation campaign in micro-donation site, prizeo.com. Donors and fans have the chance to win an exclusive studio hang-out with the singer in exchange for donating a few bucks. With only 4 days to go as of writing, the donation campaign has already raised $660,810 of the $1,000,000 goal.
3. Distribution of Shirts, Toys and Basketballs
The pop star gave away shirts, toys and basketballs to child survivors of typhoon Haiyan in Tacloban, Leyte.
4. Visiting a Temporary Learning Space and Performing for Kids
JB chanced upon a temporary learning space filled with about 300 children. He explored the area and spent time with the kids. After which, he performed a few of his songs including the worldwide hit, "Baby."
5. Played Basketball with the Kids
Bieber also spent time with the boys in Tacloban, Leyte. He indulged the kids in a game of basketball, one of the Asian nation's favorite sport. He also played hoops with FIBA Team Philippines coach Chot Reyes who joined him in his visit to the province.
