Kim Zolciak Instagram: 'Don't Be Tardy' Star Responds to Body Shamers Who Called Her Legs ‘Chunky’
Former "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kim Zolciak has always been active on social media -- posting candid pictures of herself and her family to the delight of fans.
The mother of six nearly quit posting personal pictures to social media this weekend when a picture she posted to Instagram showing her dressed in a sexy black dress resulted in dozens of insulting comments about her "chunky" legs.
The reality show star, 36, since added this caption to the photo: "Yes I have thick or as some of my followers call them 'chunky' legs (Rude A** People) always have and I love them that way! I love every inch of me and it's evident some of you don't. It's truly disheartening to see some of your comments because My kids see this stuff and I'm appalled. I guess it's time I stop posting personal pics of myself as well as my kids since some of you last night and today commented rudely about them. #GodDontLikeUgly"
Her fans immediately reacted with supportive comments.
"Kim the best thing is to not acknowledge these people you look perfectly fine and it is sad that in America being skinny its what's hot. How about a normal weight? Why can't that be hot? Because that's what's normal. We are all different shapes and sizes but we all remain beautiful," wrote follower traicymontano.
Saturday, April 4, Zolciak posted another selfie and responded to the outpouring of support from her fans.
"I see you my sweet followers," Zolciak wrote. She also pointed out that unhappy people should not try and bring others down.
"I know being in the public eye comes with scrutiny, but people before your fingers start typing some BS why don't you think WTF you're gaining by doing that!" she wrote. "Constructive criticism and difference of opinions is what makes the world go round but down right hurtful comments are not needed. From today on any and ALL haters will be blocked."
The reality star warned haters not to email her website asking why they have been removed and begging to be unblocked.
Zolciak and her husband, Kroy Biermann, were on a beach vacation during the body shaming incident.
She met the Atlanta Falcons defensive end in May 2010 at a charity event, Dancing with Atlanta Stars. They married on Nov. 11, 2011 and have four children together.
Bravo has announced a new show starring Zolciak and "RHOA" co-star NeNe Leakes. The upcoming show will be called "Nene and Kim: The Road To Riches," which will follow the friends on their adventures as they take a road trip.
Bravo has not announced the show's premiere date.
