Samsung Galaxy S6 vs Apple iPhone 6 Specs & Price Comparison: S6 Launch Date Nears
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is set for an April 10 launch date, but that is not stopping some carriers from shipping the devices early, Android Headlines reports.
Several carriers worldwide began shipping the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge early. Now, AT&T is joining T-Mobile and Sprint by mailing out the devices before the April 10 launch date. T-Mobile customers have already confirmed they have received their devices in the mail.
Reports say that 20 million Galaxy S6 units will be pre-ordered. Analyst reports have also said that Samsung tripled their production to keep up with the high demand.
AT&T customers have tracked their orders and found out they are already in the process of shipment. Some customers could receive their devices Tuesday, three days before the official launch.
For customers that have not pre-ordered the Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge, the devices will be available in retail stores April 10.
Sprint is offering the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge on its lease plan. The lease requires zero down payment and 24 monthly payments of $20 for the Galaxy S6 and 24 monthly payments of $25 for the Galaxy S6 Edge. The two-year installment plan will be $27 a month for the Galaxy S6 and $32 a month for the Galaxy S6 Edge, Tech Times reports.
If customers do not want to sign up for the lease or the installment plan, they can get the phones subsidized by sigining a new two-year contract with Sprint. The Galaxy S6 with a two-year contract is $199.99, and the Galaxy S6 Edge is $299.99. Without a contract the Galaxy S6 is $648 and the Galaxy S6 Edge is $768.
T-Mobile is offering a free year of Netflix for customers who purchase either model. That's a $95.88 value, and T-Mobile has waived the taxes on the free year.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 6 costs $200 in a 2-year plan from Verizon. It costs the same in a two-year plan with AT&T and Sprint as well.
