There are tons of things that Minecraft players can do with the game, such as create custom worlds and buildings, gather resources and get involved in combats. One Washington, D.C., resident decided to get creative by incorporating a working arcade cabinet game of Pac-Man into Minecraft, Cinema Blend reports.

The man responsible for adding a working version of Pac-Man goes by MrSquishyYT. He spent more than a year working on the project that has an incredible amount of detail.

The game inside a game has Pac-Man's original sound effects and MrSquishyYT was able to recreate the artificial intelligence (AI) from Pac-Man to make the ghosts behave in the same way they do in the real game.

MrSquishyYT gave more insight into his project. 

"Welcome to Pac-Man! Over a year ago I set myself the challenge of creating a fully functional Pac-Man minigame in Vanilla Minecraft using the same ghost AI as the original Pac-Man game," he said. "After many hours and attempts, I've finally managed to create a map that manages to accomplish this, and much more!"

The features of the Pac-Man replica include: 

  • Full ghost AI identical to the real Pac-Man game
  • All original sound effects
  • Smooth movements for all ghosts and Pac-Man
  • Directional updates for all ghosts and Pac-Man
  • Live score and high score updates
  • Edible fruit (2 per round)
  • Functional side tunnels
  • Joystick
  • Fast resets

This means Minecraft players will be able to go right up to the Pac-Man cabinet and start playing it, as if they were at an arcade or playing it on their computers. 

This is not the first time that an extra has been added to Minecraft. In 2011, one Minecraft player was able to create a playable guitar. Last year, a 32-bit calculator made it into the game and so did a working computer.
