'Vikings' Season 3 Episode 8 Spoilers: Warriors Attack Paris, They 'Will Stop at Nothing to Succeed' [Watch]
It's been a long journey for Ragnar Lothbrok and his peers, but the Vikings have finally made it to the gates of Paris.
In "To The Gates," the 27th episode of the History Channel hit series, the Nordic warriors embark as the City of Lights goes into lockdown, the show's official website revealed.
"The Vikings are determined to make it through the gates of Paris and will stop at nothing to succeed," the channel detailed. Meanwhile, Odo of France prepares the defense of the city and -- if the series is true to historic accounts -- will make a name for himself due to his skill and bravery in resisting the attack.
Whatever the result of the Siege of Paris, the History Channel's most popular warriors are sure to keep battling on for a while: "Vikings" was renewed for a fourth season last month, and production on the new episodes will begin this spring in Ireland, the Wrap noted.
Local residents hoping to be make an appearance during the April to December filming had a chance to attend an open casting call in Dublin last week, and producers have said they will need at least 8,000 extras of all ethnic backgrounds, UTV reported.
So what are the key attributes that might help you score a role on the hit show? A body height above 6 feet, plenty of facial hair, a punk-style haircut and a lack of visible tattoos were all listed as requirements to become an extra, the Irish broadcasting company added.
Dirk Hoogstra, the History Channel's general manager, meanwhile, told the Wrap how excited he was about Michael Hirst's series going into a fourth season.
"'Vikings' has raided the hearts of both audiences and critics, establishing itself as one of the most compelling, visually stunning dramas on television," Hoogstra noted. "We are so proud of our immensely talented cast and crew led by (Hirst), whose intriguing storylines and pivotal arcs have the perfect balance of scope, smarts and bloodshed to keep our loyal fans watching and wanting more," the general manager added.
