Next week's episode of "Elementary" will have Holmes and Watson looking into the death of a skeptic.

"Holmes and Watson investigate the murder of a professional skeptic, a man who debunked paranormal, religious and scientific phenomenon for a living," according to Spoilers Guide. "The case becomes urgent when his homicide reveals a potential threat to homeland security. Also, Captain Gregson's daughter and fellow NYPD officer, Hannah (Liza J.  Bennett), asks Watson for help with one of her cases."

This episode will be released on April 16.

Fans of the CBS Sherlock Holmes series “Elementary” can breathe a sigh of relief as executive producer and director Larry Teng has tweeted, as reported by Spoilers Guide, that he will be working on a number of episodes for the upcoming new season.

Nothing is official yet, but you don’t have to be Holmes to see how likely it will be that Lucy Liu and Jonny Lee Miller are reprising their roles.

Teng, whose credits include shows like “Hawaii Five-0” and “Criminal Minds,” takes an extremely hands-on approach to directing episodes, infusing his scenes with visuals that bring viewers right into the minds of the people on screen.

“You’re always trying to round out the characters as much as you can,” Teng explained in a piece in Directors Guild of America Quarterly, which described how in one episode Teng wanted the audience to see how a key suspect's mind had unraveled.

Teng reached the desired effect by filling the character’s cramped apartment with telling items that would illuminate the suspect’s psyche.

“It needed to speak to the man’s isolation,” says Teng. “I wanted him to be disturbed in the middle of something when they came knocking on the door.” So Teng arranged for a half-eaten sandwich, a beer and an ashtray with cigarette butts to be sitting out for everyone to see.

Thursday's episode "One Watson, One Holmes,” has Holmes and Watson finding themselves at the center of an internet civil war, as they discover that an anonymous hacker who they sometimes work with has been murdered.

“One Watson, One Holmes” is directed by John Polson, an Australian director and actor who might be best known for starring opposite Russell Crowe in “The Sum of Us.”

“I go to where the problem is. I run to the problem,” said Polson.

Polson has a reputation for double-checking things on set, like sniffing at a glass of milk to see how long its been sitting out. Tenacity such as this likely came in handy in tonight's episode which apparently has a screensaver of Holmes in a dress.

"Elementary" next airs April 9 at 10/9c on CBS.
