Mariah Carey Feuding With Former Publicist Cindi Berger, Denies She Was Dropped
Mariah Carey is feuding with famed publicist Cindi Berger with the "Hero" singer claiming she ended their 15-year relationship after the public relations wiz insisted it was she who decided to walk away.
TMZ obtained a letter that Carey claims she penned to Berger in which she expressed, "I've done a lot of soul-searching this past year ... and I found myself asking if I was truly employing a healthy perspective (not to sound too Oprah about it all :)."
Nick Cannon's soon-to-be ex continues, "So I think it's time for us to take a break Cindi. Bring a fresh approach to this new phase in my career."
Thing is, Berger's camp claims her office never received the letter, adding it was Berger who ultimately decided to end their relationship.
Even though Carey reportedly ended the letter by offering to put an ad in a Hollywood trade magazine celebrating Berger recently winning a "Women of Power" award, things have gotten more contentious since the dissolution of their work relationship.
Carey's new manager, Stella Bulochnikov, told TMZ that Carey is upset with Berger. Carey reprotedly believes Berger leaked the story that she quit, which means Carey will not put out an ad to talk about Berger.
TMZ previously reported Cannon filed for divorce in December 2014, shortly after they were both spotted out and about without their wedding rings. Their breakup has also been an issue for Carey, with the couple reportedly living apart for months before "The America's Got Talent" host formally filed for divorce.
The couple surprised their fans by wedding in a secret ceremony in the Bahamas in 2008 after just six-weeks of dating. In May of 2013, for their fifth anniversary they renewed their vows at Disneyland.
Among Carey's biggest hits are such classics as "I Still Believe," "Don't Forget About Us," "Can't Let Go," "My All," "I Don't Want To Cry," "Love Takes Time" and "Vision of Love."
