'Ant-Man' News Update: Yellowjacket Revealed
The first pictures of the Yellowjacket from the upcoming "Ant-Man" movie have been released showing the villains superpowers.
The exclusive image was given to Entertainment Weekly who also spoke to director Peyton Reed. He said the Yellowjacket suit is very different from Ant-Man.
"Hank Pym's Ant-Man suit doesn't have a single weapon whereas Yellowjacket is armed with plasma cannons," Reed said. "Ant-Man is very fast when he's small. Also, when he shrinks, he increases his density, so he's got increased strength."
Reed also had a chance to address the rumors of reshoots on the film: "I love turning on the computer in the morning and reading the things that I did the day before -- that I didn't do! We are going to do a little bit of additional photography, but we have not done any yet. It's minor stuff."
Paul Rudd also talked with the magazine and spoke about motion capture.
"It was a new experience as far as the motion-capture-suit-ness of it. But none of it feels that different. Every part, I'm pretending to be somebody I'm not. It's all just a big lie!" Rudd said.
"Ant-Man" tells the story of a conman Scott Lang who must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, plan and pull off a heist that will save the world using a super-suit with the ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength.
"Ant-Man" is part of Marvel's third phase, which will include another "Guardians of the Galaxy" film, a Thor movie and Captain Marvel. The company is also planning on making a third Avengers movie which will be split into two parts and also has "Captain America slated. That film will feature Spider-Man.
The film stars Paul Rudd, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Pena and Judy Greer. Marvel will release the film on July 17.
