North West Baby Pictures 2015: Baby Nori Baptized in Jerusalem [Pics]
Kim Kardashian and her husband, the rapper Kanye West, arrived in Israel Monday with their baby daughter, North.
The couple’s trip to the Holy Land was short but allowed them to baptize Baby Nori there.
Following their hurricane tour of Armenia, the Kardashians’ ancestral homeland, the West-Kardashian family, with Khloe Kardashian in tow, visited Israel, landing in Tel Aviv sometime on Monday, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. As part of their trip events, the couple decided to baptize Baby Nori in Jerusalem.
The couple went on Monday to St. James’ Cathedral, an Armenian Apostolic church, in the Holy City. Armenian Apostolic Church, sometimes referred to as the Gregorian Church, is the oldest national-based Christian church in the world. Following the baptism the couple had dinner with Nir Barkat, mayor of Jerusalem.
"Kanye and North at the Armenian St. James Cathedral in Jerusalem’s Old City today," the caption reads.
According to the Times of Israel, the couple could also be in Israel to finalize the purchase of a property in Tel Aviv. However, this has not been confirmed. Throughout their travels in the Near and Middle East the couple has maintained tight control over information on their whereabouts. However, it was leaked they would stay at the Waldorf Astoria in Jerusalem, prompting them to switch hotels at the last minute.
But, why baptize North in Jerusalem? After all, the family could have done it in Armenia. The Sydney Morning Herald reports the bishop of the Cathedral of the Holy Mother of God in Gyumri did not allow the Kardashian-Wests to close off the church during their visit.
However, the couple still seem to have snapped a photo of their stop, which was uploaded to Kim’s Instagram account.
Kim simply captioned it: “Blessed.”
The couple will travel to Jordan next, it is believed. They left Jerusalem on Tuesday, with Kim uploading one last shot of the Old City.
