Recording artist Chris Brown wants to show ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran that he is serious about spending the rest of his life with her, and he plans to give her something extra special when she turns 27 next month: an engagement ring, reports Hollywood Life.

"Chris doesn't want to lose this girl. She's by far the most impressive woman he's had a relationship with in his entire life. He's been watching, and re-watching her interview and one thing keeps on sticking out to him: her wiggling her ring finger and saying she'd marry him," an insider told Hollywood Life.

Tran will celebrate her 27th birthday on May 17.

"He knows that's what she's always wanted," the source said. "When they've discussed the idea in the past she lit up like fire. She was so happy and told him she'd love to be Mrs. Brown."

Brown, 27, and Tran's rocky relationship appeared to have ended permanently when she dumped him after learning that he fathered a daughter with Nia Guzman-Amey while in a relationship with her. Since the breakup, Brown reportedly has pursued his ex in hopes she will take him back.

"Chris is really thinking about his future and he sees Karrueche there. If marrying her is what it's going to take to have her, he's considering it," the source said. "He wants to step it up and show her he's serious about her, their relationship. He may just pop the question to her on her birthday to show her that he's a man of his words and that he's ready."

Did learning that he fathered a child change Breezy into a family man? It seems so, especially since Brown made a heartfelt pledge to his daughter, Royalty, on an April 13 Instagram post.

"Every step I take will only be to greatness. Learning myself every day and striving to make a difference. Thriving not surviving. I can't make anyone love me or like me but for the people who do, you are highly appreciated and valued. I wanna grow into a great man and take care of my family. In order for me to change the world I have to change my mentality," he wrote.

Marrying Tran would be one way the "Loyal" singer could show his loyalty to the heartbroken model, plus create a secure, family environment for Royalty.

But would Tran accept his marriage proposal? Her best friend, Christina Milian, reports that Tran has been "really happy" since her split from Brown.

In March, Tran told Iyanla Vanzant on OWN's "Iyanla: Fix My Life," "There's no making up right now," with Brown.
