The Internet has been abuzz with Star Wars Episode VII news, updates, rumors, and castings. Just last week, fingers were being pointed at British actor Jack O'Connell being the so-called "new face of the movies." However, some interesting developments have emerged today: the new film, scheduled for release in 2015, doesn't have an approved budget or script at the moment! Could that mean the film is delayed?

Cinema Blend is reporting that while director J.J. Abrams and "script doctor" Lawrence Kasdan (the same miracle worker behind the universally lauded The Empire Strikes Back) are hard at work on the script for Episode 7, Disney has broken the news that the final script hasn't been submitted for approval. "Disney expects to get script for Star Wars 7 in January. No budget for movie although studio wouldn't be surprised if it costs $200 million,' tweeted Variety Magazine reporter Marc Grasser. "Disney expects a Star Wars related movie (including spin offs) every year from Lucasfilm."

But according to Digital Spy, because the script has been delayed, it could mean that the movie is as well. If the reworked script doesn't arrive in January, as mentioned by the Disney executives at the Variety Magazine breakfast, the movie itself may not be released for its Christmas 2015 projected -- and announced -- release date. The original script was proposed by Michael Arndt, who was best known for his work on the film Little Miss Sunshine. It's this script that's been reworked by JJ Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan, with the claim that the script needed to be "significantly reworked."
