Rumer Willis, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore's Daughter, Weighs the Pros and Cons of Growing up Rich and Famous
Rumer Willis' coming out party has left her wondering just how few people truly know who she is.
The eldest daughter born to Bruce Willis and Demi Moore is still competing and remains one of the favorites on this season's version of "Dancing with the Stars," but the experience has been far from just happy times for her.
"People have such an immediate judgment of me because I have tattoos or because my hair is sometimes crazy," Willis told People of some of the realities she has recently come face-to-face with. [They think] I'm this reckless child of famous parents."
In fact, for all the otherworldly pros Willis admits being born in such a rich and powerful family affords her, she highlights that there are also some major cons.
"I've traveled to some really incredible places, but my basic math skills are horrendous," she joked. "It's an interesting trade-off."
Growing up in the spotlight and literally on the sets of movies all over the country, 26-year-old Willis also reflects on how she and her younger sisters, Scout, 23, and 21-year-old Tallulah, often struggled to find and retain friends their own age.
"In high school I had a much easier time interacting with adults than with my peers," she said. "So that [period] was a weird transition."
On "Dancing with Stars," under the tutelage of assigned partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Willis seems to have hit her stride, learning as much about herself during this junket than at any other time she can recall.
"For the first time in my life I've gotten to a place where I'm really stoked about just taking care of myself and figuring out what I want," she said.
"Dancing with the Stars" airs on Monday nights on ABC.
