Selena Gomez Instagram News 2015: Slams Fat Shamers, Embraces New Curves [Pictures]
Selena Gomez was recently photographed by paparazzi during her trip to Mexico. While vacationing on the beach, Gomez was photographed with a hot pink cut-out bikini, which critics are claiming makes her look hefty.
Yahoo! News reports a TMZ writer joked that the bikini was working overtime on Gomez's thick body, while an Inquisitr writer commented that the bikini made Gomez look hefty.
Yahoo! News adds that some social media users speculated Gomez's weight gain might be a result of her breakup from Justin Bieber.
Despite the criticisms and speculations on her weight gain, Gomez took to Instagram to slam her fat-shamers.
Gomez posted an Instagram photo of herself on the beach wearing what TMZ describes as a more flattering swimsuit that compliments her curves.
Gomez captioned the photo with the hashtag, #theresmoretolove.
Gomez joins the group of many other celebrities embracing their bodies and slamming their fat shamers. This week, Chrissy Teigen posted an Instagram photo of her stretch marks, while Pink tweeted about loving her "squishy" body.
"American Idol" alum Kelly Clarkson also commented on critics and social media users calling her fat.
In a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Clarkson revealed that while her feelings were hurt because of those who criticized her weight gain, she has learned to embrace her body.
She explained to the host that size does not matter, especially because it is something that can be changed. Clarkson has personal experience with this because she has seen her body change throughout her career. Also, like other people, exercise is not always her top priority.
"Sometimes we're more fit. Like especially me, I'm such a creative person that I yo-yo," she explained. "So sometimes I'm more fit and I get into kickboxing hardcore. And then sometimes I don't, and I'm like ... I'd rather have wine."
