Bobbi Kristina Brown's Aunt Says Whitney Houston's Daughter Is 'No Longer on Life Support' [Watch]
Since Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unconscious on Jan. 31 this year, she has remained on a ventilator in a medically induced coma.
Family members, especially her father, Bobby Brown, have held onto hope that she will regain consciousness.
Bobby Brown made a startling announcement during his concert at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie, Texas on Saturday that his daughter has recovered. The R&B singer revealed to the audience that "Bobbi is awake," reports TMZ.
"She's watching me," Bobby Brown said in a video of the announcement posted to Instagram.
A source close to the 22-year-old's father told ET on Sunday that this isn't the first time he has said something like this. He has claimed that Bobbi Kristina is "aware" of her family's presence when they visit, according to the source.
Bobby Brown's sister confirmed on Facebook April 20 that Whitney Houston's only daughter has awakened from her coma.
"[Bobbi] woke up and is no longer on life support!!!!!:):)God is good!!thanks for your prayers,,still a process, but she is going to be ok:):):):)," she wrote.
In late February, doctors attempted to wean Bobbi Kristina off the coma-inducing medication, but she struggled to wake up and suffered violent seizures.
Last month, her condition had not changed. She was transferred from Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, to a nearby long-term care facility.
Bobbi Kristina's 81-year-old grandmother, Cissy Houston, told New York radio station WBLS 107.5 FM in March there was little hope of her recovery.
Houston said, "We've moved her to a place of rehabilitation. And you know, still not a great deal of hope. (We're) still praying."
Bobby Brown, Cissy Houston and Bobbi Kristina's aunt, Pat Houston, have argued since January whether she should be taken off life support. The Brown family reportedly held out hope for her recovery while Cissy and Pat Houston did not.
The Houston family has come under fire for allegedly having a hidden agenda for wanting Whitney Houston's daughter off life support -- wanting her inheritance, reports celebdirtylaundry.com. Alive, Bobbi Kristina has possession of her famous mother's $20 million estate. Since Bobbi Kristina had no will, the Houston family will inherit the money upon her death.
