The Voice Season 5 Finale Replay & Recap: Top 3 Finalists Perform Their Last Song; Who Amazed the Judges?
Season 5 of NBC's The Voice has wrapped up performance-wise on the Monday episode. With only two coaches and three voices in the competition, everyone's all eyes and ears in anticipation of the results.
Monday's episode of The Voice Season 5 Finale featured three rounds of performances by Jacquie Lee, Tessanne Chin and Will Champlin.
The first round of performance consisted of reprised songs from the contestants' audition days. For the first round, Team Christina's Jacquie Lee sang "Back to Black" by Amy Winehouse.
The 16-year old's performance was more than enough to showcase her skills. She also had her mentor commenting how much she made her enjoy everything she does in her chair. "This is an awesome beginning," Christina added.
Team Adam Levine's Tessanne Chin performed "Try" by Pink while Will Champlin went with "Not Over You" by Gavin McGraw for the reprised songs-performance round.
As always, the Jamaican did not fail in reminding the audience and the mentors of her vocal powers. The only male finalist in the competition also impressed Adam Levine. In fact, his mentor shared how much he respects him.
For the second round, Team Christina hit it on stage with a duet of the mentor's latest single and soundtrack of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," "We Remain." Not only did the powerful vocals of the duo rock the studio. Their mentor-artist relationship also caught much attention - with Blake Shelton saying that theirs was the best coach-artist pairing in all five seasons.
Tessanne Chin and Coach Adam performed a reggae rendition of The Beatles' "Let it Be." Coach Adam also joined Will Champlin in his performance of "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John.
The third round of performance consisted of solo performances of the competitors. The youngest in the competition performed "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going," from Broadway musical "Dreamgirls."
The female contestant from team Adam turned to late Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing," to which her coach said: "I know in my mind and in my heart you are the winner of this show."
Will Champlin chose what has been regarded as one of the best choice of song so far: Bryan Adam's "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You." The male contestant dedicated his performance to his wife and daughter.
Although the mentors' comments might influence votes, the voting public solely determines who will be crowned winner of The Voice Season 5. The show resumes with the poll results Tuesday night, Dec. 17, 2013 on NBC.
