John Mayer Katy Perry Who Do You Love Song: Couple Releases Music Video on GMA
In your face, Russell Brand! Katy Perry and John Mayer were on "Good Morning America" today for the debut of the music video for "Who You Love." The adorable duet with the couple who shocked the world has become a hit for all misunderstood relationships. Katy and John made us "aw" through every second of their time on the morning show.
Who would have thought that John Mayer was finally going to settle down? And we definitely didn't expect him to do so with EVERYONE'S celebrity crush, Katy Perry. The couple, who has been dating since August 2012, have a "rad and mature" relationship as Perry explains to Marie Claire. But it wasn't always smooth sailing for these two as Katy also admits that she took a break from her boyfriend to deal with her "ex-husband stuff." She realized, "If I don't do some self-love, I'm not going to be able to keep the love that I want," referring to John Mayer. The "Roar" singer also admitted that she had a crush on Mayer long before they began dating, but who wouldn't be just a little hesitant when John had quite the "player" reputation.
The chemistry between Katy and Mayer was quite evident on "Good Morning America" as they explained the concept of the song and music video. Mayer shared what he loved about Katy with the hosts and Katy what she loved about him, with Katy joking: "Okay your turn, what do you love about John?"
Making a love song together is always pretty risky between celebrity couples since Hollywood relationships don't usually last very long. But Katy and John are two very realistic people who seem to have changed each other's thoughts on love. This is the concept of the song which begins with John admitting "My girl she ain't the one that I saw coming." The song then explains that you simply just "love whom you love," there isn't an explanation why this happened but it just did, and it's great. The video shows different couples, including interracial and same sex couples, laughing and trying to maneuver a mechanical bull. A perfect representation of a union with no judgments.
