Justin Bieber Zone & Instagram Picture 2013: Star Surprises Typhoon Victims In Phillipines, Concludes Tour
Pop star Justin Bieber is asking his fans to help him give back to the Phillipines after Typhoon Haiyan plagued the region.
"The moment I heard about the tragedy a few weeks back, I thought I can count on you guys to make a difference," Bieber said.
Bieber traveled to the most devastated area of the Phillipines to spend time with the families affected by the typhoon and he also gave out shirts, toys, and basketballs to kids.
"Justin brought a lot of joy, hope and cheer to the hundreds of children who were there," UNICEF's emergency coordinator for Haiyan response, Angela Kearney, said in a statement. Kearney also said that Bieber's gifts "will give some of the children who were caught in the path of Haiyan access to education, vaccinations, better nutrition, clean water and sanitation."
Bieber also performed some of his music while he was there and kids said he sang them Christmas songs. The performance marked the end of Bieber's tour as he had just traveled to the area from Australia.
"That was the way to end a tour," Bieber wrote on Twitter. "We can all make a change and help. Please get involved."
Bieber will be featured in a new upcoming documentary -- coming out on Christmas Day -- called Believe. Some of the teasers and trailers that have been released give us a glimpse of what to expect in the film. On one particular preview, Bieber is asked whether he ever gets bored of his massive fan base.
"Bored? No. Maybe if my fans weren't screaming so loud, I would get bored," he said. "But they're screaming so loud and they're so excited and I see so many smiles; so many people crying of happiness."
