Justin Bieber News Update 2013: Singer Announces Retirement?
Justin Bieber is seemingly on a roll in terms of making jokes. The young super star has jokingly announced that he was in fact, retiring.
In a radio show at Power 106 FM in Los Angeles, California Tuesday, Bieber shocked fans and listeners when he suddenly blurted out plans of retirement.
With a rather straight face, the "Baby" singer said:
"After the new album, I'm actually retiring man. I'm retiring," he told deejay Big Boy of Power 106 FM.
The 19-year old was referring to his newest album, "Complete My Journals." The record is reportedly slated for digital release on December 23.
Reporters and fans of the singer were more than alarmed by the joke, to the point that JB's reps were asked to comment on the issue. A source close to Bieber was kind enough to tell E! Online that the whole thing was a joke.
"Of course it's not true," the source said.
While news of him retiring was all for humor, the singer seems to be serious in his intent to take a break from the music scene. During the same radio interview, JB admitted that he might be stepping out of the scene for a bit.
"I want to grow as an artist and I'm taking a step out, I want my music to mature. I'm here solely for my fans and for the music," the singer said.
"People think I'm arrogant, I'm not, I've always been a caring and giving person," he added.
The singer also talked about a variety of other things during the radio interview. According to a report by Star Pulse, JB's radio interview will be posted in its full length Wednesday at 6:20 am Pacific time.
