Neal Schon Michaele Salahi Wedding: Journey Rocker Marries Real Housewives Star in Pay-Per-View Ceremony
Let's hope that this is a publicity stunt for the sake of another hare-brained reality show: Journey guitarist Neal Schon has gotten married to former Real Housewives of D.C. "star" Michaele Salahi in a pay-per-view wedding.
You may recall that Salahi was the "White House crasher" with her now-ex-husband, Tareq. You may recall, too, that Journey once had hits, such as "Don't Stop Believin'."
According to the San Francisco Gate -- who reported this obvious ploy for attention like a wedding announcement on the NY Times society page -- the has-been and the never-were somehow managed to afford a lavish affair at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, California. The "lavish" affair -- which included rock star guests, like Sammy Hagar, in attendance, a wedding song by Brian McKnight, and celebrity event planner Sharon Sacks preparing an event for a total of 356 people -- will now be broadcast on pay-per-view, supposedly to benefit the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. (To be fair to Journey, as well, the band has already pledged $350,000 for the relief efforts.)
In case you're not sick to your stomach yet, Celebuzz is reporting that prior to the nuptials (which absolutely do not minimalize the "sanctity of marriage," and how dare you suggest otherwise...), the happy couple registered for a whopping $90,000 of luxury gifts on their wedding registry. You can take a look at their registry on that link, in case you're having a Marie Antoinette "Let them eat Cake" moment and feel the need to overthrow the bourgeois...)
This is Michaele's second marriage, and Neal's fourth. And I'm absolutely sure that this wedding will turn out just as well as all of the other ones. How could it not, really..?
No matter -- congratulations are in order for the happy couple.
