Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Review, Specs, Price: Here's What You Need to Know Before Purchasing the Samsung Galaxy Note 3
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is a big-screened smartphone that also includes a stylus.
The phablet (phone/tablet) style phone has made some improvements since the last device was made, according to Trusted Reviews.
The screen size has increased to 5.7 inches on the Galaxy Note 3. That is quite large for a smartphone. However, the Galaxy Note 3 managed to get narrower than the Galaxy Note 2 even though it increased in screen size by 0.2 inches.
With its big size, the Galaxy Note 3 also is thick. It is 8 centimeters wide, which means that users will not be able to operate the device in one hand, unless they have really big hands. By comparison the iPhone 5S is only 5.8 centimeters wide.
The original Galaxy Note came had a 5.3 inch screen. The Galaxy Note 2 increased to a 5.5 inch screen. Sticking with the 0.2 inch increase, the Galaxy Note 3 includes a 5.7 inch screen. All three screens have been capable of displaying HD-quality images and text.
Thanks to the large screen, the Galaxy Note 3 will be capable of multitasking through the Multi View feature. This means that two apps can be displayed on one screen, each app using half of the screen. That means that a user could be chatting with their friend on half the screen while reading an article on the other half of the screen.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 comes with a stylus called the S Pen. The S Pen is capable of drawing, writing words and much more. The S Pen will be able to distinguish how much pressure is being put onto the screen as well. Also, writing words with the S Pen is simple because of the excellent character recognition capabilities of the Galaxy Note 3.
The camera included in the Galaxy Note 3 is a respectable 13 megapixel snapper. This camera will generally take good pictures except it struggles with low-light photos.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 increased the size of the battery to keep up with the bigger screen. A big 3,200 mAh removable battery is now included in the phone. That is 100 mAh bigger than the Galaxy Note 2 battery. However, the battery will definitely need to be charged everyday. In tests, the battery was at or below 50 percent life by mid-day.
Best Buy is offering the Galaxy Note 3 for $299.99 with free shipping.
