Apple iPhone 6 Plus vs Xiaomi Mi Note Pro: Which Phablet Is Better?
In a recent article on PC Advisor, the new Apple iPhone 6 Plus stood head-to-head with China's Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. The results were somewhat hit and miss, but altogether, they both had great qualities to boast about.
Looking at the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro first, the display is quite acceptable. The 5.7-inch screen has a Quad HD (2560x1440) resolution with 515ppi pixel density. The iPhone 6 Plus however has a 5.5-inch screen with 1920x1080 resolution and a 401ppi pixel density. The screen is quite engaging though.
So by looking at the screen aspects, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro has probably stolen the category.
But a good phone has to have a solid design and structure. The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro has a metal frame with a 2.5D glass front and 3D glass rear. The feel is what most might call "above acceptable." It weighs 161 grams.
The iPhone 6 Plus is 172 grams, but not much of a difference when you hold the two side-by-side. But that can also work in favor of the iPhone because it has a classically solid design. Apple has notoriously built its iPhones well and this model does not lack on quality.
In terms of build and design, the iPhone 6 Plus will take that category.
Performance is always a highly determining factor as well. Although the article never got a chance to test the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, it does take into account the superior charting scores of the iPhone 6 Plus, especially with the Geekbench 3's multicore test, which it scored an excellent 2,917 points.
We also have to factor in storage availability. The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro comes standard with 64GB of storage, whereas the iPhone 6 Plus's standard is 16GB. But unlike the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro, it can be expanded to 64GB or even 128GB, which both are built in.
In terms of price, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro has the iPhone 6 Plus beat by far. But as far as quality and performance, the iPhone 6 Plus has the edge.
