Elizabeth Olsen Movies & Nudity: 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' Actress Credits Kate Winslet As Reason She's OK Being Naked in Movies
According to a cover story for Net-a-Porter's Magazine, Elizabeth Olsen is comfortable with on-screen nudity.
Although her famous twin sisters Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen have never bared all for the camera, she has taken a surprising turn. It is no shock, though, considering she has recently starred in a string of independent cinema hits.
Olsen, who is 26, attributed seeing a young Kate Winslet bare herself in front of the camera as her muse to allow her to free her inhibitions on the topic.
"I remember watching 'Holy Smoke' and thinking that it was so reassuring to see a young Kate doing something that was so bold in so many ways," Olsen revealed to Net-a-Porter. "I thought to myself, 'O.K., so it doesn't destroy your career if you appear nude or take risks.'"
Although Olsen has freely admitted that friends and family have tasked her against the idea of appearing nude in film, she had a few differing thoughts on the matter.
"There are actresses, young and old, who have decided never to do that, and they become these examples people talk to you about," Olsen said. "You want that voyeuristic quality, but I never feel I have to be nude."
According to a report in the May 4 issue of Star Magazine, as reported by HollywoodLife, Olsen has also been romantically linked to fellow "Avengers" star Jeremy Renner after working so closely with him in the movie sequel, which is due out in a little over a week.
"Lizzy and Jeremy became super close when they were filming for several weeks in London and Italy. And ever since then, the two have been hanging out," a source told Star Magazine.
Renner is 44 years old and almost 20 years Olsen's senior. But that has not stopped the recently divorced Renner from allegedly seeking out the young star.
