Grand Theft Auto 5 Online Gameplay: Capture Update Brings Mixed Reactions
Rockstar Games has once again given gamers a new way to enjoy Grand Theft Auto Online with its Capture update.
The Capture update is Grand Theft Auto's version of Capture the Flag. Instead of capturing flags, however, players capture something more familiar to them: stolen cars and suspect packages.
"With 20 new Jobs across four unique modes, this GTA twist on classic capture the flag style confrontations brings a whole new level of adversarial action to the world of Los Santos and Blaine County," Rockstar Games said on its Newswire page. "Strategy plays a huge role as you run decoys, set traps and place obstacles to ensure your enemies don't get close to your goods."
There are four different modes in the Capture update. Raid, Hold, GTA and Contend are all accessible via Freemode. The update came free on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, but online gamers must be at least Rank 8 in order to join the fun.
Rockstar Games said that the Capture update also fixes bugs in the game as well as provides "dynamic tuning updates."
As with most video game updates, gamers have their share of complaints and suggestions.
"I'm I the only one who thinks that A: You should be able to share money. B: You should be able to buy a house in sandy shores or paleto bay. C: They should come out with a Las Ventures DLC. D: Let you be able to wear a bandana over your face like in GTA San Andreas," a gamer named Lococrazy2489 said.
"great update. You guys should add a doube barrel shotgun, revolver, crew color gun camo/ logo on magazine and we should be able to own more then 1 garages, after the heists come out and the last things I just mententioned I think it will be great...," Nathan183129 said.
"man i tell you, everytime rockstar releases an update to fix one problem, it creates 10 more. not really digging the payout on the new game mode. how bout concentrating on fixing the glitches and exploits, and gettin us the heists instead of these minigames?" mfoster09 said.
"The Capture the Flag Mode is not really as good as it can be. One Problem is the ( 4 Teams ) default option. Host should decide how many teams will be competing ... The capture locations should not be in city but rather on a playing field that is built for capture mode," COG30xxMove said.
Still, many seem satisfied with Rockstar Games' violent take on the childhood favorite of Capture the flag.
"Who cares how late the dlc's come out, long as they free I'm cool....thnx R*," CashIgetDinero said.
What do you think? Is Rockstar Games' Capture update a hit or a bug-inducing, flawed miss?
