CBS ‘Hawaii Five-0’ Season 5 Episode 23 Spoilers: Kono Takes a Wild Solo Trip Around the Hawaiian Islands
"Hawaii Five-O" is starting to heat up as the final stretch of Season 5 closes in.
As reported by Spoilers Guide, Kono (Grace Park) embarks on a solo trip around the Hawaiian Islands to honor the memory of her mother. But weather wreaks havoc on her journey, leading her to potentially disastrous consequences. Eventually, she must fight just to stay alive, in this episode titled "Mo'o 'olelo Pu."
Episode 23, which airs on CBS this Friday, May 1, really likes to send mixed signals to die-hard viewers. As promoted, it gives you the sense that Kono may actually be killed. But as pointed out by Carter Matt, it contradicts everything that has been revealed about this season's finale.
All along, it has been promoted that Adam and Kono will be married in the season finale, so if for some reason she does get killed in the violent weather, it will deflate all the momentum leading up to the finale. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that she succumbs to the threat of the weather. It also clearly takes the tension out of the episode for a viewer who keeps up-to-date with CBS promotions.
But at the same time, there has been a lot of speculation as to what will potentially ruin the wedding for Adam and Kono, as reported by TV Guide.
It could be a plausible scenario that if she doesn't get killed, she could be unconscious and lost for a few episodes, injured or maybe even in a coma right up until the finale. Either way, the tension is building up to an explosive sequence of events that will keep us glued to the series until the season ends. It could also potentially end on a cliffhanger.
In an interview with The Fresno Bee, Park revealed that she is more of a city person over the sand and surf life.
"Not everybody's into sun and surf," Park told The Fresno Bee. "People go to Hawaii for a lot of different reasons and I've come to understand them better. But I am more suited for the big city. And, when you talk about the location it's usually the highlights. No one talks about all the work which is usually about 95 percent grunt work."
