‘Mad Men’ Season 7, Episode 12 Spoilers: Don Gets Rewarded While Joan Butts Heads With a Coworker
The notoriously silent AMC and Matthew Weiner have done it again: They have kept us mostly in the dark about what to expect from the next episode of "Mad Men," Episode 12 in the second half of the critically acclaimed seventh season.
But what we can gather, with a little help from Carter Matt, is that the characters finally start seeing some real closure to their lives in the SC&P office, as evidenced in the previous episode.
The official description for this upcoming AMC episode says Don will receive a reward for his work while Joan butts heads with a coworker in regards to one of their accounts. Roger Sterling will also dodge a bullet – not that it's the first time he's had to do so on the show.
"Mad Men" is gearing up in each episode to actually conclude. Just like the show creator said, each episode feels as though it is the last. A lot of ends are being tied up and all signs point toward an inevitable conclusion.
Last Sunday, as reported by Business Insider, SC&P learned that the lease for their office space has not been renewed which lead to the realization that they are being absorbed by McCann Erickson.
Don's big idea is to pitch the west coast expansion to their new McCann bosses and prove that they are still valuable, with a few major accounts, of course.
But when they showed up to pitch the idea, McCann's executive, Jim Hobart, explained to them that they have misunderstood the situation. He basically relayed to them that they have passed the test and were being brought in to handle some of McCann's major accounts, which included Buick, Nabisco and Coca-Cola.
Hobart was basically rolling out the red carpet for them and inviting them to officially play in the majors, which gives the final season a basic structure for their endgame.
