Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez admitted that he is unsure if he will continue playing for Real Madrid next season once the loan agreement between his current club and Manchester United ends in the offseason.

Hernandez moved to Real Madrid last summer via a one-year loan deal from Manchester United. The Mexican soccer star liked the move after not getting enough opportunity to shine at Old Trafford, but he has yet to get significant playing time at Bernabeu as well.

Hernandez is playing behind superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale along with Karim Benzema and James Rodriguez all-season long. The 26-year-old was recently entrusted with a bigger role after Benzema went down with an injury.

Chicharito rose to the occasion as he scored the game-winning goal during the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal match against Atletico Madrid, which helped his club move one step closer to defending their title. He also netted two goals during their 4-2 victory against Celta Vigo in Spanish La Liga on Sunday.

His recent performance fueled speculation that Real Madrid will eventually negotiate a permanent deal to secure the future of Hernandez, but Chicharito said that he is not yet thinking about it and is unsure about his future at Bernabeu.

"Only God knows where I will be this time next year," Hernandez told reporters. "For moment, my only plan is to continue enjoying this moment and helping the best team in the world. As I have said before, I've been through a tough time and now it's my turn to enjoy the moment."

Hernandez said that he is enjoying his time at Bernabeu now compared to several weeks ago because of the opportunities he is getting in their recent games. But despite his uncertain situation, he vowed to continue working hard to help Real Madrid defend the Champions League and win the Spanish La Liga title.

"There's nothing better than being out there on the pitch, I want to enjoy it and give my best for the team," Hernandez said. "What I have learned is that succeeding is down to me and I have to continue working hard. There will always be bad days and good days."

As for a possible return to Manchester United, Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal reiterated that he is not interested in reacquiring Hernandez despite scoring crucial goals in recent games for Real Madrid.

"When you score a goal -- as he has just done for Real Madrid -- are you suddenly different? I don't think so," van Gaal told Marca, referring to the possibility of welcoming Chicharito back to Old Trafford.
